Time to FOF Quality Control¶
Quality assessment of feeding timeline variables and identification of potential data issues.
Variable Definitions¶
time_to_first: Days from birth to first oral feedingtime_to_fof: Days from birth to full oral feedingfeed_delta: Days from first oral feeding to full oral feeding (for QC purposes)
Data Quality Issues Identified¶
- 4 cases (1.8%) where feed_delta < 0 (full feeding achieved before first oral feeding)
- 8 cases (3.5%) where feed_delta < 1 day (achieved full feeding within 24 hours)
Summary Statistics¶
| Variable | N | Missing | Mean | SD | Min | Median | Max | |

Relationship Analysis¶

Flagged Cases (Negative Feed Delta)¶
Showing 4 of 4 cases with negative feed delta:
| time_to_first | time_to_fof | feed_delta |
|---|---|---|
| 17.6 | 0 | -0.2 |
| 30.3 | 0 | -0.1 |
| 30.3 | 0 | -0.1 |
| 33.6 | 0 | -0.9 |
Questions for Principal Investigator¶
1. Data Cleaning: Should cases with negative feed_delta (full feeding before first feeding) be excluded as data errors?
2. Same-Day Achievement: How should cases achieving full feeding within 24 hours be handled in analyses?
3. Missing Values: What is the appropriate handling for missing time_to_FOF values?
4. Outliers: Should extreme values (e.g., time_to_FOF > 100 days) be investigated or excluded?
